So there I was minding my own business, washing my hair when it happened: a literal handful of hair, in my hand and no longer attached to my head.
Perhaps you have been there too, my friend and so you can relate to the sudden shock this brings and the hundreds of thoughts that race through your mind. It only took a moment to calm down and remind myself that HAIR SHEDDING, is a common occurrence. Hair shedding varies and is affected by a myriad of factors; stress, immune system compromise, seasons, hormones, even cyclical. Your body talks to you, through the health of your HAIR, SKIN, and NAILS but are you listening? I truly believe that to experience the best health and vitality, that we must focus at a cellular level. This routine, is not just about what to apply topically, it is also about what to take internally.
So here we are: I had already been planning to increase my hair care game to grow my hair out once again so what better time, than now.
It's been an eye-opening journey of hair health the past few months and some of the results I have been experiencing have been far beyond my expectations and, I have been able to get creative with the some “outside the bottle” ideas. I can’t wait to share them with you here!

I’m going to break this down in levels for you because I realize not everyone takes the same “ALL IN” approach as I tend to do, so just in case you aren’t ready to go the whole routine, don’t worry, I got you covered with options. Lots of options. (Ok it’s three options. You get three.)
I’m also going to break this down in the sections: the WHAT, the WHY, the HOW in case you just want to get straight to the core of it, or for those that really want to understand how this awesome-ness works. Lastly, I’ll have your level options so you can choose whatever is best for you.
I suggest grabbing some snacks, and some hydration for the long read journey ahead…. I have a lot to unpack here for you and I want to make sure I leave nothing out.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
• BOAR BRISTLE BRUSH
Get a good one, the cheapest one from Wal-Mart is not going to cut it. A REALLY good Boar bristle brush will run you a few hundred dollars (I know, I had the same reaction) so I found a middle of the ground one to get me started and I am beyond pleased with it.
COMBINATION BRUSH
You’re going to want two styles, trust me. One is for function, the other is for style.

HAIR REHAB SPECIAL NOTE:
• During the time you have dedicated to this, try to avoid extreme heat to your hair and any chemical treatments at the salon. Remember, this is a reset for your hair so let’s do it right. Stop hyperventilating… If I can do it, you can do it.
• TRY to only wash your hair every 3-5 days. If you need to use a dry shampoo, try Diamond Dust by Savvy Minerals. This mineral veil is INCREDIBLE as a dry shampoo! I apply it using a blush brush. If you need to adjust the color, use Multi-Tasker or Coco Powder.
Stop hyperventilating… If I can do it, you can do it.
WHY ARE THE ABOVE ITEMS SO SPECIAL?
Great question, let’s break it down…..
THE BOAR BRISTLE BRUSH
• The main brush serves two functions with it’s combination bristles. One to detangle, the other to smooth. Boar bristles, smooth and hydrate the hair by carrying sebum from the root of the hair (your scalp) all the way to the ends of your hair. Over time, this will help nourish, hydrate, and make styling easier. The longer brushes gently exfoliate the scalp to increase blood circulation and stimulates the follicles.
• The second brush, is a styling brush with soft boar bristles that will help smooth the hair for incredible shine and softness.

HOW TO USE THEM
THE BRUSH
Brush your hair every morning, and every night with the combination brush.
Use the soft bristle brush to smooth out hair, and refine your style.
CBD Beauty Boost
The NIGHT BEFORE you wash your hair, apply the serum to your scalp. The best way I have found to do this, is to make three parts in your hair. The first part, is an extreme side part in line with the outside of your eye. Apply 1/3 dropper along this part line. The second part will be right down the middle where you will apply another 1/3 dropper. The last part, will be an extreme side part on the other side, and apply the last 1/3 of the dropper. You can add a few drops to the back of your scalp if you really want to focus on an additional application area. Next up, “treat yo-self” and enjoy a nice scalp massage. Massage the serum into your entire scalp to make sure it is fully distributed. Put on your gorgeous new cap that everyone in the house will admire by poking a bit of fun at you but just smile, and go on with your gorgeous self. Walk that bedroom hallway like is is the RUNWAY at the Chanel Cruise Show. The next morning, you will brush thru your hair with your combination brush and then, TO THE SHOWER WE GO!
(yes, you will be washing your hair in the morning for best results as you want to the serum to remain on the scalp for as long as possible. IF you must wash your hair in the evening, then you’ll want to apply the beauty boost as early in the late afternoon or early evening as possible)
WASHING YOUR HAIR
If you are new to using the Young Living shampoo, you must remember one thing: we have banned over 2,500 chemicals and that includes sulfate surfactants so you are going to have to really work to earn that foaming action.
If you have a lot of product in your hair, you might want to do a vinegar / water rinse first.
Run warm water through your hair you have rinsed a majority of the Beauty Boost out. Next up, grab your shampoo of choice (I prefer the Lavender Mint or the Lavender but I’ll break them down at the end of this for you) and work just a dime sized amount into your scalp with your fingertips. Remember: shampoo is meant for cleansing the scalp. After you have worked the shampoo into the scalp, rinse hair, and now grab a quarter size amount of shampoo and work through entire head. You should get a lather here, but if not, rinse, and repeat until you do. The more buildup you have from product, the longer this will take.
Condition your hair using a desired amount of shampoo and work from 2”off the scalp, to the ends of the hair. Remember: conditioner is meant to condition the hair, not the scalp.
Hey blondies…. Wanna hear a great hair hack to get brassiness out? Grab a quart size jar, add 2 drops of MRS STEWARTS BLUING AGENT and fill with water and use as a finishing rinse.
STYLING
• Apply a few drops of lavender essential oil to your fingertips, and massage onto scalp (your hair will still be wet at this point, just towel dried) Want to kick it up a notch? Apply a few drops of Ylang Ylang for shine and hydration to the mid shaft down to the ends of your hair.
• Apply a few drops of Mirah Hair Hair to still damp hair, and work from mid shaft to the ends of hair

One of the biggest questions I get, is what do I use for hair spray: HAIR SPRAY
SULFURZYME
Take as the bottle directs for maintenance or work with your comfort to meet your wellness goals. A prospective, double-blind study in middle-aged women showed that MSM significantly improved the condition of hair and nails. Some women were given a higher supplementation (3 g MSM/day) while the other group was given a lower supplementation (1 g MSM/day). The study found that results increased at a faster rate in women taking a higher dosage; however, both groups showed visible improvements. MSM is naturally found in the environment - like in plants and humans. The sulfur in MSM strengthens the bonds between keratin molecules in hair and nails. Sulfur-containing amino acids influence the ability to detoxify free radicals and contribute to the maintenance of cellular systems. Taking up to 3 g of MSM is reported to show increases in hair and nail health. Specifically, hair shine and volume after 8 weeks of use.
